Location

Smugglers Cove is situated in the Snowdonia National Park on its southernmost boundary, the north shore of the Dyfi Estuary.

The cottages are located 7 miles south west of Machynlleth, and 3 miles east of Aberdyfi on the A493.

Directions

By Road: from Machynlleth: at the clock tower in the centre, take the A487 towards Aberdyfi. After the river bridge turn sharp left onto the A493 signposted to Aberdyfi. Drive for 6 ¼ miles passing through the villages of Pennal & Cwrt. As the road starts to get close to the estuary, it bends sharply to the right, then to the left as it descends quite quickly to sea level. As you descend you will see a white walled building on the right hand side. This is Quarry Cottage. Carry on about 75 yards, and turn left into the yard: a gravelled parking area with a large curved wooden building with an angled roof, and parked cars, trailers & boats. This is Frongoch Boatyard. On entering turn left and drive past the wooden building on the left for Smugglers Cove Cottages private parking or use main carpark for camping and The Boy John which is accessed via footpath to the right of the building and underneath the railway line.

PLEASE NOTE: If using a sat nav to find us, due to an anomaly with Post Codes, it will take you to a location approx ½ mile from us off the main road. When nearing Smugglers Cove, say about a mile away, ignore any sat nav directions to turn off the main road. Smugglers Cove is right alongside the main road.
